Melissa Denish is a second year medical student at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Jefferson University. She received a Bachelors of Science from Elon University, where she studied Biochemistry. During her time there, she performed research on Tay-Sachs disease, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder. Melissa is currently spending her time working on better characterizing TCF7L2, as well as increasing awareness and access to resources for patients and their loved ones.
